When it misbehaves

Name the stuck file, not the whole suite.

Crashes, ads, missing fonts, a full C: drive, and Word that “vanished” after uninstall are different jobs. This hub points at the how-to that matches the symptom. It is independent. We never host installers. Official downloads stay on wps.com/download.

Match the symptom, then open one guide.

A five-minute triage

If the suite never opens, skip recovery folklore and go to WPS will not open. If it opens and the document is missing, go to recover files before you empty Recycle Bin or “clean” AppData. If Microsoft Word still sits in Program Files but a DOCX opens nothing, that is associations or a Repair — Office after uninstall, not a reinstall of Windows.

Ads are a product choice on the free skin, not proof of infection by themselves. A “WPS Office 2026 Full Ads-Free.exe” from a forum is infection weather. Read disable ads and free versus Premium before you disable antivirus to silence a banner.

Linux empty checkboxes are almost always fonts. Windows “it looked fine at home” is often fonts plus a projector. Spreadsheet totals that vanish are often Power Query or VBA, not SUM. PDF-to-Word that looks like a collage of boxes is a scan or a two-column journal — budget time to clean, or keep the PDF.

What this hub will not do

We cannot reset a Kingsoft password, refund Premium, or bless a hospital records rule. We will not publish registry pastes from 2014 or a one-click “fixer.” When a Microsoft Q&A thread already describes leftover icons after a third-party suite, we point at Repair plus default apps rather than inventing a new ritual.
