When it misbehaves
Name the stuck file, not the whole suite.
Crashes, ads, missing fonts, a full C: drive, and Word that “vanished” after uninstall are different jobs. This hub points at the how-to that matches the symptom. It is independent. We never host installers. Official downloads stay on wps.com/download.
Start here
Match the symptom, then open one guide.
It will not launch
Splash screen, hang, or immediate close. Update, kill wps.exe, cache, disk, official reinstall.
The file is gone
Backup Centre, autosave, %AppData%\kingsoft, Recycle Bin, cloud versions.
Word looks broken
After removing WPS, repair Microsoft Office and reset who owns DOCX.
Wrong app on double-click
Windows Settings → Default apps by file type for DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF.
C: filled up overnight
Cache settings, Backup Centre path, Kingsoft AppData. Not a virus by itself.
Ads cover the ribbon
Premium is the supported path. No cracks. A community firewall note, with the caveat.
PDF will not become Word
Built-in convert, possible Premium walls, proofread fonts and text boxes.
The PDF looks different
Export from Writer, reopen on a phone, then fix the source — not the PDF.
Word says the layout jumped
Embed fonts, skip VBA factories, freeze as PDF when the page must not move.
A total is blank
Common Excel formulas work. Power Query and macros are the weaker row.
Every envelope is wrong
Clean the spreadsheet first. Preview empty fields before you print the list.
Phone and PC disagree
One account, about 1 GB free. Local files still work with no login.
Boxes instead of bullets
Calibri and Wingdings on Ubuntu. Install legal fonts. Not a corrupt Deb.
I want it off the PC
Settings uninstall, leftovers, then associations. Do not download a “cleaner.”
I think I installed a fake
Vendor builds from named stores. Search-ad EXEs are a different object.
A five-minute triage
If the suite never opens, skip recovery folklore and go to WPS will not open. If it opens and the document is missing, go to recover files before you empty Recycle Bin or “clean” AppData. If Microsoft Word still sits in Program Files but a DOCX opens nothing, that is associations or a Repair — Office after uninstall, not a reinstall of Windows.
Ads are a product choice on the free skin, not proof of infection by themselves. A “WPS Office 2026 Full Ads-Free.exe” from a forum is infection weather. Read disable ads and free versus Premium before you disable antivirus to silence a banner.
Linux empty checkboxes are almost always fonts. Windows “it looked fine at home” is often fonts plus a projector. Spreadsheet totals that vanish are often Power Query or VBA, not SUM. PDF-to-Word that looks like a collage of boxes is a scan or a two-column journal — budget time to clean, or keep the PDF.
What this hub will not do
We cannot reset a Kingsoft password, refund Premium, or bless a hospital records rule. We will not publish registry pastes from 2014 or a one-click “fixer.” When a Microsoft Q&A thread already describes leftover icons after a third-party suite, we point at Repair plus default apps rather than inventing a new ritual.
